California woman accused of setting boyfriend on fire

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Police in Southern California have arrested a woman suspected of setting her boyfriend on fire after an argument in their San Bernardino home.

Police Sgt. Gary Robertson says the couple retired to different rooms following the fight Saturday night. The 43-year-old man says he fell asleep in the living room and awoke at about 7 a.m. with flames on his legs and chest.

His girlfriend was gone but officers arrested her about 12 hours later. The Los Angeles Times reported Monday that 52-year-old Stacy Mahle faces charges including attempted arson, attempted murder and domestic violence.

Robertson says the man, whose identity is being withheld, was treated at a hospital for third-degree burns.
