California teacher poses as girl on Facebook to lure boys into online relationships, report says

Zachary Reeder CBS Los Angeles/Irvine Police Department

(CBS) - A male teacher was arrested in California on Saturday for luring young boys into online relationships while posing as a girl on Facebook, CBS Los Angeles reports.

Authorities said 30-year-old Zachary Reeder pretended to be a young girl and convinced young boys to send him sexually explicit photos of themselves. It is not believed that Reeder had any in-person contact with the boys.

Reeder is a history teacher at Servite High, a Catholic school for boys in Anaheim, according to CBS Los Angeles. He was also an assistant coach at Arnold O. Beckman High School in Irvine until last year.

Detectives are trying to determine if Reeder used his job as a teacher to target his victims.
