Kanye West and Evel Knievel Settle Lawsuit
Evel Knievel said he met with Kanye West in Florida and settled a federal lawsuit over West's use of Knievel's trademarked image in a music video.
"We settled the lawsuit amicably," Knievel said Tuesday. "I was very satisfied and so was he." Knievel also expressed sympathy for West as he mourns his mother who died earlier this month.
The two sides agreed to not publicly disclose the terms of the settlement.
Knievel sued West and his record company last year. At issue was the 2006 music video "Touch The Sky" in which West assumes the identity of "Evel Kanyevel" and vaults over a canyon in a rocket-powered motorcycle.
West's attorneys claimed the video was satirical and thus protected by the First Amendment.
In the lawsuit, Knievel had said the "vulgar and inoffensive" images defamed his reputation. Knievel accused West of borrowing Knievel's image to "promote his filth to the world."

On Doctor's Orders, Amy Winehouse Cancels Appearances For Rest Of The Year
Amy Winehouse has canceled all concerts and public appearances for the rest of the year on doctor's orders.
"The rigors involved in touring and the intense emotional strain that Amy has been under in recent weeks have taken their toll," said Winehouse representative Tracey Miller in a statement Tuesday.
"In the interests of her health and well-being, Amy has been ordered to take complete rest and deal with her health issues."
The decision by the 24-year-old retro soul singer comes "on the instruction of her doctor," the statement said. Her family asked the media to "respect Amy's privacy at this time."
Winehouse's 25-year-old husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was ordered held in custody in London earlier this month on charges stemming from a case in which he is accused of assaulting a barman in June.
"I can't give it my all onstage without my Blake," Winehouse said in a statement provided by Miller. "I'm so sorry but I don't want to do the shows halfheartedly; I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him, it's just not the same."

Lewis, who bears a resemblance to Lindsay Lohan, starred in the YouTube "Lindsay Fully Loaded" parody video out earlier this year, which can be seen on her MySpace page.
Meanwhile, a source tells The ShowBuzz that Spears is expected to shoot a new video in Los Angeles today.
Kevin Costner Chosen For Mardi Gras Honor
Don't be surprised if you see Kevin Costner throwing Mardi Gras beads into the crowd.
Costner will ride in the Endymion parade, one of the largest parades in New Orleans' Carnival season.
Costner, 52, won director and best picture Oscars in 1991 for "Dances With Wolves." He also starred in "Bull Durham," "Waterworld," "Tin Cup," "JFK" and "Field of Dreams."
His selection was announced Monday by parade officials.
Endymion, one of the most popular events of the Carnival season because of its elaborate floats and celebrities, will return to its mid-city route after two years of rolling uptown in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
The parade will be held Feb. 2.
