Wayans Brothers Drop Bid For Oakland Studio

2Hollywood's Wayans brothers have dropped their bid to build a movie studio and shopping center at the former Oakland Army base over conflicts with the nearby Port of Oakland.

Wayans business partner Britten Shuford said the brothers failed to get a commitment from the city to preserve the site's San Francisco Bay views.

The port, one of the country's largest, plans to stack storage containers and build a dividing wall that would block views of the bay.

Oakland business officials say the Wayans' decision to back out after long-standing negotiations over the 100-acre parcel clears the path for other proposals on developing the base, which closed in 1999.

Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums has released a list of 13 other developers interested in building on the site.

Chris Brown Denies Relationship With Rihanna

5Know all the talk you've been hearing about Rihanna and Chris Brown being an item? Forget it.

Brown is throwing cold water on the rumor that he's dating the Caribbean beauty who had a big hit with "Umbrella."

Brown tells The Associated Press he and Rihanna are "not in a relationship or anything."

Brown says he is single and describes Rihanna as just a friend. What does Rihanna have to say about the rumors? Nothing. At least not this past Saturday when both were at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.

Though she walked the red carpet, OK, in this case the orange carpet, since it was Nickelodeon, she bypassed reporters and presumably their questions about her personal life.

Madonna Chimes In

Music legend Madonna was candid in an interview with Michael Yo for his "Yo on E!" satellite radio show.

The pop icon, who appeared in a music video with Britney Spears, feels bad for the troubled star.

"They need to step off … For real ... Let's go save her," Madonna said.

Her daughter Lourdes' gives the pop princess the benefit of the doubt.

"She knows Britney, but doesn't catch all that gossip stuff," Madonna told Yo. "So I think she sorta gets the drift of what's going on, and I think she's kind of protective of Britney."

The press has been spreading rumors that Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie are headed for splitsville.

"You know how people are. It is ridiculous … I don't pay much attention to it," Madonna told Yo.

Madonna revealed that her Malawi-born son David is "the life of the party."

"He loves music, he's an amazing dancer, he's just a character," Madonna said.

Madonna's upcoming album, "Hard Candy," will be released on April 29.

"It is sexy… I think it's got some hard set beats, but there's some sweetness on top. I like the juxtaposition," Madonna said.
