Suspect Says O.J. Wanted Guns There
O.J. Simpson wanted guns in the room when he led a group of men to confront two sports memorabilia dealers, according to a co-defendant who took a plea deal and agreed to testify for the prosecution.
Walter Alexander told police after his arrest that the former football star seemed to wait until Alexander and another man arrived with guns before heading into a Las Vegas hotel room to retrieve sports collectibles that Simpson said belonged to him.
"O.J. said, 'Hey, just bring some firearms,' " Alexander told police in a transcript of his tape-recorded statement obtained by The Associated Press.
Alexander, 46, told police he carried a .22-caliber handgun in his waistband and Michael McClinton, who gave him that gun, pulled a larger pistol from a holster and displayed it in the room.

Alexander, a real estate salesman from Mesa, Ariz., and Simpson's golfing buddy, has agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery, a felony. Clark County District Attorney David Roger said Alexander could receive a suspended sentence and be eligible for probation.
His 45-page account raises the legal stakes for Simpson, who has said that guns were not involved in the Sept. 13 encounter.

C-Murder Living Up To His Name?
The New Orleans rapper sometimes known as C-Murder will be tried a second time on a second-degree murder charge. A Feb. 11 trial date for Corey Miller was set during a telephone conference with prosecutors and defense attorneys, Judge Martha Sassone said in court Tuesday.
Miller, 36, is accused in the shooting death of Steve Thomas, 16, at a Harvey nightclub on Jan. 12, 2002. The teen used a fake ID to get into the club.
The rapper's 2003 conviction was tossed after Sassone found that prosecutors withheld criminal background information on witnesses from his attorney. The state Supreme Court upheld Sassone's ruling in March 2006, when she set $500,000 bail for Miller and ordered his house arrest. He faces a mandatory life sentence without parole.
Miller is also the author of a book called "Death Around the Corner."
