(CBS) - Today, Missoni arrived in Target stores and on Target.com, which may have caused the retailer's site to crash.
Many fashion mavens have been anticipating the designer collection at Target for months. Eager shoppers who want zigzag-patterned and bold-colored fashion and decor logged on to Target.com first thing this morning only to find this:
It wasn't long until freaked-out shoppers would take to Twitter to complain and inquire.
"I'm already having a panic attack over not being able to get my hands on the Missoni for Target home line... can't believe I woke up at 4:45 (not on purpose) and decided 2 shop online 4 Missoni for Target. Wouldn't let me shop! Now the site crashed," tweets Kyle Richards of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
"@target's website is down. perhaps too many missoni fiends crowded the site snatching up the striped goods?" tweets Michael Marino.
"Anyone been to Target today? I'd love to get my hands on some Missoni but the website is down and I think everything in stores is sold out," tweets Ana M. Ortega.
We're waiting for more details - and obviously, for the site to be running as it normally does - so stay tuned. All we know right now is that Target is aware of the issue and has been tweeting at followers to hang on. "We understand your frustration, our apologies! What did you find @ the store?"
Grrr, some of us are at work and trying to get in on the Missoni action, so get your site back up and running, please!
UPDATE at 11:20 a.m. - It must be the Missoni stuff that crashed the site. Here's the latest page-load fail from the Target site:
Thanks a lot, Target, for inserting a little humor with your "woof!" note. We really needed that as we continue to hit refresh on your site. Oh, the agony!
UPDATE at 11:30 a.m. - Success!!!
The site was up five minutes after our previous update. Then, five minutes later, I had $200 worth of Missoni stuff in my Target.com cart. I hit "place order" and voila. I just got myself a blouse, a sweater dress, a sweater skirt and a jumpsuit. I don't know what they look and feel like in person, I don't know if they'll fit. I'll worry about that later.
Update at 12:20 p.m. - Tech Talk blogger Chenda Ngak was going to buy a Missoni dress. She clicked to enter vital info - her shipping address, credit card info, etc. - then got an oops page. Shop with caution, everybody! Or, shop really really really fast.
