(CBS) WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - Police in Wheat Ridge, Colo. are searching for whoever broke into the Gunsmoke Gun Shop featured on the Discovery Channel show "American Gun," CBS Denver reports.

"I don't know if the show made us a target for crime or not. We certainly are better known... they wouldn't be the people that would watch our show. A good family values show," Rich Wyatt, the gun shop's owner, said.

Officers were notified of an alarm going off in the shop and arrived at the scene shortly after 4a.m. Wednesday.

They found a hole in the roof where at least one suspect broke into the gun shop, CBS Denver reports. The suspect or suspects escaped through a window toward the back of the building.

Wyatt isn't sure what the intruders were looking for or if they wanted something specific. The shop reportedly contains hard to find weapons.

Police are still working to identify the weapons that were stolen.

In the meantime, Wyatt is confident the crooks will be found because they were caught on surveillance video inside the store.

The Wheat Ridge Police Department is asking anyone with information about the burglary to call their tip line at 303-235-2947.
