Burgess To Challenge McCotter

Lest we forget, Texas Rep. Michael Burgess has thrown his hat in the ring to challenge Republican Policy Chairman Thaddeus McCotter of Michigan.

"Our Republican ship needs righting and the House Republican Policy Committee can help chart a fresh course," Burgess said in a statement released from his office earlier this morning. "I’m asking for Member’s support to help the House GOP leadership create this new roadmap."

There were rumors that fellow Texan Kevin Brady would also challenge McCotter, but there's already a glut of Republicans from the Lone Star State challenging for leadership posts. McCotter, for his part, is running to keep the post.
