Budget Chicken Game Continues
Continuing their game of budget chicken with the Bush administration, House Democrats will propose spending some $10 billion more on health, education and labor programs than President Bush wants, according to a document obtained by The Politico today.
House Appropriators are expected to approve the 7.2 percent increase above the president’s budge request when they meet to ratify allocations to subcommittees Tuesday night.
President Bush had proposed cutting those programs next year.
