Bryant Bassey, Texas man, charged with capital murder for allegedly killing of his father and stepmother

(CBS/AP) DALLAS - A 34-year-old man has been charged with allegedly killing his father and his stepmother in Garland, Texas.

CBS DFW reports Bryant Bassey was arrested in connection to the deaths at a hospital on Thursday. He had reportedly gotten into a car accident two days prior.

The bodies of his father, 61-year-old Bernard Bassey and his 69-year-old wife were discovered on Wednesday morning after a couple's acquaintance called the authorities worried about the couple.

Police have not said how Bernard and Joy Bassey died or why they arrested Bryant Bassey in relation to the crime, reported CBS DFW.

Bassey has been charged with capital murder and his bond set to $1 million.
