Brooklyn man confesses to throat-slash slay of 16-year-old girl
(CBS) NEW YORK - A 22-year-old man confessed Wednesday to the September 25 slaying of 16-year-old Kyanna Thomas on a Brooklyn street corner.
Police have charged Rashad Salaam with second-degree murder.
According to the New York Daily News, a police source said that Salaam feared the girl was going to set him up for a beating and that he meant to slash her face and give her a "buck fifty," which apparently refers to a slash wound from the ear to the mouth that requires 150 stitches to close.
But instead, he slashed her throat, killing her.
