Bring Back the Reminder Bell for Appointments in Outlook 2010
For centuries, it has been easy to tell if your upcoming meetings were going to pop a reminder ahead of time -- you could see a small bell-shaped icon in the appointment block in Outlook's calendar view. Then, Microsoft inexplicably took it away in Outlook 2007, and brought it back in Outlook 2010 -- but turned it off by default. If you want to restore that little bell icon, here's how to do it.
Recently, How-To Geek reminded us all that it was possible to bring back the bell icon in Outlook appointments. And it's really easy to do -- no registry hacking needed:
- Click File, and then click Options.
- On the Outlook Options dialog box, click the Calendar tab.
- Check the box for Show bell icon on the calendar for appointments and meetings with reminders.
