Brie Larson is gearing up to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe with some very important reading material.

Last month, the "Room" Oscar-winner was tapped to play superhero Captain Marvel in the company's first female-fronted film, set for a March 2019 release.

Which means Larson has some time to boost her knowledge of the character -- and she's apparently already getting started. On Sunday, Larson posted a cute photo to Instagram of herself reclining on a couch reading a "Captain Marvel" comic -- while wearing a version of the character's costume.

"LARSON INDUSTRIES R&D DEPT.," she captioned the pic.
