Brandy: Grammy's Cinderella?

Singer Brandy, 20, is up for four Grammy awards this year, in the categories of Record of the Year, Best R&B Performance By A Duo or Group with Vocal, Best R&B Song, and Best R&B Album, because of a duet she recorded with the artist Monica.

She tells CBS This Morning Co-Anchor Mark McEwen that her "date" for the Grammy ceremony will be Monica, with whom she recorded the duet The Boy Is Mine, which spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

"Her manager called my mom," Brandy explains. "She said, 'It will be a great idea if Monica and you went to the Grammys together.' Our song is nominated, so she's going to be my date for the Grammys."

It's not only her singing career that keeps Brandy busy. She's also the star of the sitcom Moesha, and she made a splash last year in the title role of Cinderella, a Disney remake of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical version of the fairy tale.

She also has completed another made-for-TV movie, to be broadcast in May: Double Platinum, starring Diana Ross, whom Brandy calls "a legendary diva." Ross plays her mother in the movie.

"It's about love," explains Brandy. "The message in the story is: Love is all that matters, no matter what you go through in life. That's the message. That's one of the reasons I did the movie."

Brandy's production company produced the movie, and her immediate career goal is to move into producing music as well.

"I'm going to try to produce groups and manage groups and help some of my friends that I know that have talent," she says, "and probably start my own company, and start doing more movies, and stuff like that."

Aside from her music, Brandy co-starred in the feature film I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.

"It was fun to do," she tells McEwen. "I got a chance to be a totally different character than what I'm used to playing. I had a good time."
