Brandon Routh

Brandon Routh is the latest actor to done the Man of Steel's red cape. The 26-year-old actor from Des Moines, Iowa, stars in "Superman Returns" which earned $21 million on its opening day and received almost universally rave reviews from the critics.

Routh appeared in guest spots on several television shows and had a regular role on the daytime soap "One Life To Live" for a year. As a film actor, he's a relative unknown — just as his predecessor, Christopher Reeve, was when he was cast in the role in 1978.
