Boyle's Likely Rival: Spotlight "Amazing"
When 12-year-old Welsh schoolboy Shaheen Jafargholi started singing Amy Winehouse's song "Valerie" at the latest audition of "Britain's Got Talent,"...he was stopped by grumpy judge Simon Cowell, told he had it all wrong, and asked if he could sing anything else.
Shaheen paused, then launched into "Who's Loving You," which was made popular by Michael Jackson -- and another star was born. As happened with Boyle, audience members and judges alike were wowed.
Can Shaheen challenge the worldwide dominance of Susan Boyle on YouTube, and win the TV competition, "Britain's Got Talent"?
He and his mother spoke with co-anchor Harry Smith on The Early Show Wednesday from their home in Wales.
Boyle's performance has been seen more than 100 million times on YouTube.
And Shaheen told Smith, "I think she's absolutely amazing, and I really do wish her all the best, because she deserves something, because she has such talent."
What does he think of the perceived competition between him and Boyle?
"I think it's crazy. I mean, you know, it's amazing that people are thinking of me that I can have that impact on everybody and, you know, I can do as well as she's done. And it's just, you know, amazing to think that people actually are sitting down and thinking about me and thinking, you know, 'I want this boy to do well.' It's absolutely amazing and just I can't describe it."
