Boehner Votes Against Bundling Bill

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) voted against legislation on Thursday requiring lobbyists to disclose the campaign contributions they collect from others.

Boehner is the lone member of the elected leadership in either party to vote against the measure, which passed overwhelming, 382-37. He opposed Democratic efforts to update the current lobbying laws because the legislation, in his opinion, is "largely indistinguishable" from the changes Republicans made last year - legislation Democrats overwhelmingly opposed.

"I don't use words like hypocrisy lightly, but this is hypocrisy," Boehner said.
