Blunt To Visit RSC

House Minority Whip Roy Blunt (Mo.) will attend a meeting with conservatives in the Republican Study Committee on Thursday afternoon, according to people familiar.

Many of these conservatives crushed the initial $700 billion financial-markets rescue plan, so Blunt probably won't convert many of the lawmakers present. But he will give them a chance to vent their frustrations in front of a chief negotiator of this deal.

“The RSC is an important part of our conference and over the past several weeks they have brought many important ideas to the table about how to shore up our economy," Blunt spokeswoman Antonia Ferrier said. "As the House prepares to consider the Senate-passed economic rescue package, it’s important that all views are heard and that is precisely why Mr. Blunt wanted to hear their views.”
