Bin Laden books being rushed into print
(CBS/AP) Publishers are scrambling to get Osama bin Laden books into the pipeline, trying to capitalize on the interest spawned by the terrorist leader's death in a U.S. raid last weekend.

Steve Coll, best known for the Pulitzer Prize-winning "Ghost Wars: The Secret History of the CIA, Afghanistan, and bin Laden, from the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2001,'' will write a new book that covers events of the past decade, through bin Laden's death. The publisher, Penguin Press, said the book is currently untitled. No release date has been set.
On Tuesday, Crown Publishers announced a deal with Peter Bergen for "an immersive, definitive account'' tentatively called "The Manhunt.'' A national security analyst for CNN, Bergen has also written "Holy War, Inc.,'' "The Osama bin Laden I Know'' and "The Longest War.''
Jon Meacham, an executive editor at Random House, may be among the first out of thegate. He is is assembling an essay collection about the Al Qaeda leader that Random House expects to publish as an e-book next week.
Others considering digital books on bin Laden include Free Press, an imprint of CBS Corp.'s Simon & Schuster publishing arm.
