Big Boy worker allegedly put pig medicine into restaurant's coffee, salt shaker

(CBS/AP) COLUMBUS, Ohio - A worker at a Big Boy burger restaurant is charged with trying to poison customers by pouring pig medication into a pot of coffee.

According to The Blade newspaper, Edwin Ledgard, 36, told police that he was having delusions to kill customers.

Ledgard reportedly went to Big Boy where he worked on his day off and poured two 100-milliliter vials of Dextran, a drug used to treat anemia in pigs, into the restaurant's coffee pot and another into a salt shaker. Another worker saw what he was doing.

Ledgard is charged with contaminating a substance for human consumption and is in jail on a $100,000 bond.
