Biden teams up with Lin, Manning, Torre against dating violence

President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have teamed up with Jeremy Lin, Eli Manning, David Beckham and other sports stars on a public service announcement for the prevention of dating violence and sexual assault against women.

The PSA is part of Biden's "1is2Many" (One is Too Many) initiative and is directed at young men because, according to the White House, women between the ages of 16 and 24 experience the highest rates of relationship violence.

"We thought the best way to get the truth out was to make sure young men hear from other men they respect," the White House said.

White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett and MLB players Jimmy Rollins and Joe Price joined "Mr. Veep, my man," as Price referred to Biden, to launch the PSA on Thursday.

Biden shared there that his wife Jill, an avid Phillies fan, has a bobblehead doll of the Philadelphia star Rollins on her nightstand. "That's more than a man should have to take," Biden joked.

On a more serious note, baseball great Joe Torre even shares a personal experience with domestic violence.

"Growing up, I was ashamed and afraid of my father when he abused my mother," he said in the PSA. "Violence against women hurts all of us."

Biden launched "1is2Many" a year ago but says that his work on violence against women spans two decades.
