(CBS) Where's the best place to live in America? Money magazine has some opinions.

On Monday the magazine released a top 100 list of best small towns for families in the U.S. The editors arrived at their sure-to-be-controversial ranking after considering financial and quality of life factors in 3,570 small towns with populations ranging from 8,500 to 50,000, according to the Money website.

The editors looked at cost of living, housing prices, cultural and recreational opportunities, the quality of public schools, weather, divorce rates, air quality, and crime rates - even the percentage of residents who walk or bike to work.
