Best Bets: "The Rum Diary," new Coldplay album and the return of "Chuck"

(CBS) Johnny Depp and Justin Timberlake are both back on the big screen this week.

Depp stars in "The Rum Diary," an adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson's tale of a journalist in 1950s Puerto Rico. The film also stars Amber Heard and Aaron Ekhart.

Timberlake joins Amanda Seyfried and Olivia Wilde in the science fiction thriller "In Time." The film takes place in the future, where time has replaced money as currency and people's lives have expiration dates.

Those films are due out Friday, along with the romance "Like Crazy," which stars Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones as a couple maneuvering a Transatlantic relationship.

TV fans have the fifth and final season premiere of "Chuck" to look forward to Friday night at 8 p.m. on NBC. "Grimm," the network's new crime-meets-fantasy drama about a detective tasked with keeping humanity safe from supernatural creatures, will air its series premiere at 9 p.m.

In music, Coldplay's fifth album, "Mylo Xyloto," will be available on Monday, and the band will livestream their Madrid concert online on Wednesday. Kelly Clarkson's latest record, "Stronger," also comes out Monday, as does Drake's "Take Care."
