Best Bets: "Footloose" reboot, Bjork album and Tim Allen sitcom
(CBS) Hollywood is taking you back to the 1980s this week with a reboot of the beloved Kevin Bacon classic "Footloose."
Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough show off their footwork in this movie musical about a small Middle America town that bans dancing. Dennis Quaid plays the preacher dad who lays down the ban.
Also opening on Friday are "The Skin I Live In," Pedro Almodovar's thriller with Antonio Banderas as an obsessed plastic surgeon, and Joel Schumacher's "Trespass" with Nicole Kidman and Nicolas Cage.
Movie lovers also will be happy to hear that two of the summer's headline-grabbing movies are coming to DVD Tuesday - the box-office fave "Horrible Bosses" and Terrence Malick's beautifully photographed headscatcher with Brad Pitt and Sean Penn, "The Tree of Life."
Also out on DVD this week is "The Harvest,'' a documentary backed by actress Eva Longoria about child migrant laborers
TV watchers can look forward to the debut tonight of "Enlightenment," a new HBO show starring Laura Dern and the premiere Tuesday of the new Tim Allen show on ABC, "Last Man standing." On AMC, "The Walking Dead" begins a new season on Sunday.
"Biophilia," a new album by Icelandic singer Bjork arrived on store shelves today along with a variety of apps representing different songs on the album.
Debuting Tuesday is a solo album by Joe Jonas of the Jones Brothers ("Fast Life") and a third studio album from rockers Evanescence ("Evanescence ").
In the publishing world, we'll see the release Tuesday of "The Marriage Plot," a new novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning ("Middlesex") writer Jeffrey Eugenides. He also wrote "The Virgin Suicides," which was made into a movie by director Sofia Coppola. His new work is about graduation day at Brown University in 1982.
