Beach Boys-themed movie-musical in the works

(CBS/AP) Music from The Beach Boys is set to hit the big screen.

Beach Boys singer Mike Love says a movie based on the group's  music is in the works., much  the way "Mamma Mia!" was based on ABBA's

Love says it's a big-budget film with occasional Beach Boys drummer John Stamos as a co-producer. He says Sasannah Grant, who wrote "Erin Brockovich" is writing the story.

If all goes well, Love anticipates the film would come out next summer. He also says he fully expect "Barabara Ann" and "Rhonda" to be characters, referring to two of the group's  most popular songs.
