Who do you think will win Oregon?

John McCain

Barack Obama

Oregon

Oregon seems the kind of state that is tailor-made for Barack Obama. Portland, its largest city, has a well-earned reputation as a bastion of West Coast liberalism, and it is chalk full of the kind of college-educated, well-off voters that played an enormous role in Obama's victory in the Democratic primaries. In May, Obama drew a staggering crowd of 75,000 people to an outdoor rally in the city, which shattered the campaign's previous record turnout of 35,000, according to the New York Times.

The McCain campaign has indicated it intends to fight here, and the Republican hopes he can garner enough support among independents and the Republican-rich eastern part of the state to pull off a surprising win.

But there is more to Oregon than Portland. The McCain campaign has indicated it intends to fight here, and the Republican hopes he can garner enough support among independents and the Republican-rich eastern part of the state to pull off a surprising win. It was close in 2004 but it could take a bigger effort to keep it that way this time around for McCain.
