"Basketball Wives," Royce Reed Stir Up Drama

"Basketball Wives," a new reality show on VH1, is already creating controversy with viewers.

The show, which features seven women who are linked to professional basketball players, did not come up short on the drama during the season premiere. And the drama was mostly surrounding Royce Reed, the former Orlando Magic and Miami Heat dancer and mother of NBA star Dwight Howard's son, who has already earned the reputation of the crazy and daring one on the show.

Footage was aired on the season premiere of Reed displaying controversial behavior at a pool party hosted by Ludacris and Terrell Owens. Reed participated in a dance contest and got a little too promiscuous for the other ladies' liking. Cast member Evelyn Lozada told Reed that it "looks bad," and that she was concerned over her teenage daughter seeing it.

This is just a taste of the drama that's in store on this new reality series. Shaunie O'Neal, soon to be ex-wife of NBA star Shaquille O'Neal, is an executive producer of the show. Perhaps one of the most famous basketball wives, her goal for the show is to shed light on the complicated lives of the women linked to NBA stars.

Although called "Basketball Wives," only one of the women is currently married to a professional basketball player- Jennifer Williams, wife of Eric Williams. The other women on the show are Reed, who is the ex-girlfriend of Dwight Howard, Evelyn Lozada, ex-fiancée of Antoine Walker, Suzie Ketcham, ex-girlfriend of former NBA star Michael Olowokondi, Erikka Moxam, a stylist from Miami, and Shaunie O'Neal.

"Basketball Wives" airs Sunday nights on VH1.
