"Bad Luck Bandit" Arrested After Running out of Gas
WENATCHEE, Wash. (CBS/AP) Wenatchee Police have dubbed a 47-year-old Tacoma man the "Bad Luck Bandit" after the man allegedly stole Native American collectibles from a local store, and then ran out of gas just 50 feet from where he'd been parked.
Police were notified of the theft by the store's owner and caught up with the man, who had taken off on foot.
He was arrested for investigation of first-degree theft.
Stg. John Kruse believes this was not the Bad Luck Bandit's first robbery. The man was also in the possession of antique necklaces. Additionally, he is suspected of stealing a beaded Native American ceremonial garment worth $10,500.
