According to the Hollywood Reporter, the summertime hunt for romance netted ABC a 2.6 rating and an audience of 7.9 million, a significant increase over last year's Monday night finale. The timing was switched to Sunday this year to accommodate the debut of "Bachelor Pad" tonight.
The "After the Final Rose" special that followed the finale also was up 14 percent from last year.
The Teen Choice Awards matched its performance from last summer. THR reports that it earned a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 on Fox. The network notched 2.7 million viewers over the course of the night.
CBS's summertime staple "Big Brother" saw a smaller audience this week over last year but it still was enough to claim second place with 5.2 million viewers.
NBC aired "Dateline" and an encore "America's Got Talent" to draw 3.6 million viewers for the night.
