Baca Vs. Sanchez: Round 293

The San Bernardino city council will not have Jeremy Baca, youngest son of Rep. Joe Baca (D-Calif.) as one of its members, thanks in part to Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.).

Sanchez donated to the younger Baca's opponent and the ultimate victor in the primary race, Vincent Yzaguirre. Sanchez's spokeswoman denied that the donation had anything to do with defeating young Baca, or with the bad blood between Sanchez and the elder Baca. Yzaguirre also got support from Republicans seeking to undercut the elder Baca's power in the area.
