Baby and woman stabbed to death, "person of interest" questioned, say Calif. police
(CBS/AP) SAN JOSE, Calif. - Authorities say they're interviewing a man described as a "person of interest" in the stabbing deaths of a 1-year-old boy and a 48-year-old woman Wednesday.
Santa Clara County sheriff's spokesman Kurtis Stenderup says the boy, the woman and a 3-year-old girl were stabbed in a home in an undisclosed area near San Jose.
The victims were found by a relative at around 3:30 p.m. Stenderup says U.S. Marshals and San Francisco police helped find 27-year-old Ruben Ramirez in San Francisco Wednesday night.
Deputies said Ramirez is a family member who lived in the home where the attack occurred, according to CBS San Francisco.
The station reported that Ramirez suffers from mental health problems and authorities have been called to the house before. Police said he frequented homeless shelters.
Authorities said the 3-year-old was in stable condition at a hospital Wednesday night.
