Avs Trade Lacroix To Kings

Pierre Lacroix, general manager of the struggling Colorado Avalanche, traded his son to the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.

In the swap, the Avalanche moved forward Eric Lacroix to the Kings for left wing Roman Vopat and a sixth-round pick in the 1999 entry draft.

In seven games, Lacroix had failed to score any points and had two penalty minutes.

Vopat, 22, playing in his fourth NHL season, also had no points in three games for the Kings this season with six penalty minutes. In 82 career NHL games that included a 25-game stint with St. Louis in 1995-96, Vopat had six goals and 11 assists to go with 169 penalty minutes.
