Autopsy: No foul play in death of Mississippi mom

FLOWOOD, Miss. - Police in Flowood, Mississippi say a missing woman whose body was found last month on the banks of a river died of an accidental drug overdose.

Police investigator Ricky McMillian said in a statement that Jessica Hewitt's death was attributed to a mixed drug toxicity that included Suboxone - a prescription pain reliever - and methamphetamine.

The 29-year-old Hewitt was reported missing by her family on June 14 after she failed to pick up her child from day care. Authorities found her car the next day. Her body was found June 16 in a grassy area near the Peal River in Flowood.

McMillian says because there were no signs of trauma to the body, the police are closing the case and no charges will be filed.
