Auction Your Skills and Services at Jobpic
Looking for work? Most sites let you browse for employers who need to fill a position. You know the players -- everyone from Monster to freelance hangouts like elance to social networking experiments like VOIS.
But here's a twist: Jobpic lets you advertise your services, so employers can bid on you.
When you hang your shingle at Jobpic, you fill out a profile and post some sort of portfolio to give prospective bidders some idea of your abilities. You can offer services in pretty much any specialty, from financial services to writing to graphic design to translation services to pet care.
Right now, the site doesn't appear to have significant traffic, and I think it's always a worrying sign when professionals try to use a site that's also being trafficked by casual users -- folks who are offering to sell homemade brownies and dance lessons. But it's an interesting idea and one that could get some traction.
What do you think? Would you try to sell yourself at Jobpic? Or would you browse the listings to hire someone?
