Atlanta thrift shop worker hospitalized after explosion

A man has reportedly been burned in an explosion at Veteran's Thrift Shop, center, on Memorial Drive in Atlanta, Ga.

(AP) ATLANTA - Atlanta fire department officials say a thrift shop employee has been hospitalized with burns after a package he was opening exploded.

Atlanta Fire Department Captain Marian McDaniel says the unidentified worker was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with burns to the hands and legs.

Authorities are investigating the incident.

Police and fire officials remained on the scene Tuesday afternoon.
