Arrest in death of Fla. woman found near bike path

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Police have arrested a Clearwater, Fla. man in the death of a 41-year-old woman whose body was found in a ditch near a popular bike path in Pinellas County.

On Tuesday, police said they arrested Dewayne Jones and booked him into the county jail on a first-degree murder charge.

Officials allege Jones killed Lydia Ann Tross of Clearwater. Tross was reported missing Aug. 5 after having an argument with her boyfriend.

Police said Jones kept Tross' wallet. Several days later, after news reports about Tross that included her photo, one of Jones' relatives noticed the wallet with Tross' identification and called police.

It's unclear whether Jones, who is 18, has retained an attorney.
