Ariz. man arrested for stealing $110,000 worth of funeral urns, cops say
(CBS/AP) EL MIRAGE, Ariz. -- Police have arrested a man suspected of stealing $110,000 worth of bronze funeral urns from a Phoenix-area cemetery.
The Arizona Republic reports the arrest of Jose Lopez follows a month-long investigation of the suspect, who authorities say stole 180 bronze vases from grave sites in El Mirage, Ariz. Officers from the Phoeniz Police Department's metal-theft unit and an anonymous tip led to the arrest.
Lopez was booked into jail on suspicion of trafficking in stolen property, facilitation and forgery.
The stolen urns were returned to the funeral home.
