Ariz. 15-year-old girl allegedly forced into prostitution, two people arrested, report says
(CBS/AP) PHOENIX - Two suspects have been arrested for allegedly befriending a 15-year-old girl and forcing her into prostitution, according to CBS affiliate KPHO.
The station reports Sgt. Steve Martos said the alleged victim called relatives on Thursday and told them she was being held against her will.
Authorities reportedly said the 15-year-old met Kiana Clark, 18, on the internet. Clark allegedly convinced the young girl to meet up with her at a hotel.
Police say there the victim met 27-year-old Marquel Watson, who took pictures of her and then published them online as ads.
The two teens were reportedly involved in prostitution for two days and Watson took the money.
According to Martos, the suspects were interviewed by police after the 15-year-old's family contacted them. Clark and Marquel reportedly made incriminating statements.
Watson was booked into jail on two counts of sex trafficking, and Clark was booked on one count of sex trafficking and one count of possession of dangerous drugs, reports KPHO.
