Archie Panjabi Wins Outstanding Supporting Actress Emmy for "The Good Wife"

NEW YORK (CBS) Little-known British actress Archie Panjabi is waving the UK banner high after her big Emmy win Sunday night in Los Angeles..

The 38-year-old won an Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series for her role in the CBS series "The Good Wife."

Panjabi, who made her name in the popular British films "Bend It Like Beckham" and "East Is East," won the Emmy for her breakout role as a private investigator Kalinda Sharma on the hit show.

The London-bred actress beat out fellow "The Good Wife" co-star Christine Baranski and "Mad Men" actress Elisabeth Moss.

The only other British actress to take home a trophy in the primetime categories was Julia Ormond, who won a supporting acting Emmy for her role in HBO TV movie "Temple Grandin."
