Apple CEO Tim Cook takes second trip to China

Apple CEO Tim Cook made a second visit to China is less than a year to discuss development and innovation, Bloomberg reports.

Cook met with Ministry of Industry and Information Technology head Miao Wei Tuesday to discuss China's developing information and communications industry, innovation trends, and global mobile development, the agency said in a statement on its website.

It was reported that the two men exchanged views on development in China as well.

Apple's chief took a public relations trip to China last March amid reports that the company's supplier Foxconn violated several labor laws. During that trip, Cook toured Foxconn's facilities in Zhengzhou and Tainjin. A fan also snapped a picture with Cook at an Apple Store in Beijing, which circulated on the micro-blog Weibo.

Cook's current trip may be to maintain a copacetic relationship with China as Apple rolls out more retail locations and products. According to Bloomberg, the number of Apple stores in China has doubled since Cook's last visit.

Apple did not immediately respond to CBS News' request for comment.
