Antiq Hennis Murder Update: 2 men arrested in connection with Brooklyn toddler's shooting death
(CBS/AP) WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Authorities in northeastern Pennsylvania say two men have been arrested in connection with the weekend shooting death of a New York City toddler in a stroller.
Police are calling 23-year-old Daquan Breland and 19-year-old Daquan Wright "persons of interest" in the slaying of 1-year-old Antiq Hennis. They were taken into custody at about 6:30 a.m. Friday. No charges were immediately filed.
CBS New York reports investigators believe one of the men is the alleged gunman.
Authorities in New York say the boy was being pushed in a stroller by his mother and father while crossing a street in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn at about 7:20 p.m. Sunday when multiple shots were fired. The child was rushed to a hospital with a gunshot wound to the left side of his face and was later pronounced dead.
Sources told the station that the alleged gunman is a gang rival of Antiq's father., Anthony Hennis. Police said the father was the intended target of the shooting.
