Ant-sy woman can't sleep, police to the rescue
(CBS/AP) BERLIN - It's the middle of the night, 3 a.m. Wednesday.
A 75-year-woman in Offenburg, in southwest Germany, calls the police with a complaint: she can't fall asleep because her doorbell keeps ringing.
Turns out, the place was "bugged."
Officers rushed to the scene. Quickly, they identify the culprit.
It's an army - well, more like a colony - of ants.
Police say the ants had built a big nest next to the doorbell. So big, it kept pressing the doorbell's switching elements together, and so the bell kept on ringing.
Officers removed the nest with a knife.
Time to go back to sleep.
