Anne Hathaway's "nipplegate" fashion: What was going on with her Oscars gown?

(CBS News) A day after the Oscars and Anne Hathaway's red carpet look is stirring "nipplegate" gossip.

The "Les Miserables" actress' soft pink column gown had an unfortunate set of darts across her chest that, in some photos, appear to be her nipples.

Joanna Coles, editor in chief of Cosmopolitan and a former mentor to the designers on "Project Runway: All Stars," said on "CBS This Morning," "Those are not her real nipples, but that's not the point. The point is, the first law on the red carpet is 'do no harm.'

"All you want to do is get off the red carpet with people saying you're a style icon. This was not her best moment. Everybody was thinking, 'Are they her nipples?' and the attention was drawn away from her genius. And then, of course, when we saw her on the stage in that marvelous, kind of medley they did of 'Les Mis' she was wearing a different dress and it looked fantastic and we were all praying she was going to keep that dress on, but, no, she was back in the Prada."

"Two hours before the red carpet began, a press release went out that said she would be wearing Valentino and the next thing we knew she said she changed her mind," Coles said. "... It was a very pretty dress, but it took away the attention away from where she actually wanted it."
