NEW YORK (CBS) That familiar face you saw on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" Thursday night was indeed actress Ann Margaret , a 1960s sex symbol known for such movies as "Viva Las Vegaas" and "Bye-Bye Birdie."

The 69-year-old actress, singer and dancer continues to appear regularly in movies and on TV. In "CSI," which introduced a new character - the serial killer Squeegel - this week, she played Margot Wilson, a Vegas grand dame and target of the serial killer.

This week's show also represents something of a crossover for franchise creator Anthony Zuiker, also a novelist. The latex-wearing Squeegel is also one of the characters in "Level 26: Dark Origins," a graphic novel he published last year. The sequel, "Dark Prophecy" hits store shelves today.
