Angelsoft Launches Tool For Funders, Entrepreneurs

This story was written by Rory Maher.

The funding market may have dried up, but that isn't stopping people from trying to find new ways to connect startups with investors. Angelsoft, a site that pairs entrepreneurs and funders, has launched a filtering tool that helps startups find the right investment partner. The tool enables users to filter Angelsoft's base of about 450 angel-investor groups and over 1,000 VC firms by criteria like average investment size, typical deal terms, industry specialty, funding history and deal flowin hopes of finding funder that is more simpatico with the startup. The site also provides users with partner profiles of investment firms as well as ways to contact executives via Linkedin. Angelsoft, founded by David S. Rose, Chairman of the New York Angels, and Ryan Janssen, processes 2,500 to 3,000 applications from startups a month. But it says less than 3 percent of those applicants gain funding through the site, a sobering reminder of how competitive the startup world is and how few ideas are worthy of investment.
