Amy Grant's Darling Christmas

Five-time Grammy-winning artist Amy Grant is celebrating this holiday season with a musical special Saturday night on CBS.

Amy Grant: A Christmas to Remember is an hour filled with holiday spirit and classic seasonal music.

And on The Early Show she performs a hidden track from her new album, "Merry Christmas, Darling."

Originally considered a gospel/Christian singer, Grant crossed over to pop music with the release of her album Heart in Motion, which spawned four top-five hits, including "Baby, Baby," topping both the Billboard and R&B charts simultaneously.

She has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide; other popular Grant songs include "Lucky One," "That's What Love Is for," and "Every Heartbeat."

Her holiday special was shot on location in the Canadian Rockies and features Tony Bennett, 98 degrees and CeCe Winans.

A Christmas to Remember is the name of Grant's third holiday album. She is on a soldout 23-city Christmas concert tour for the third consecutive year.

"I never would have thought my life was going to be so much about making Christmas music but it was a natural progression. This last album was to help support the tour," says Grant.

This season she made her acting debut in the television movie A Song From the Heart.

And on a personal level, she is officially dating country singer Vince Gill. According to a Nov. 29 People magazine article, the two were rumored to be an item before either of their divorces became final. The couple maintained that their relationship remained platonic until their divorces were completed.

When asked about whether some Christian music stations have turned their backs on Grant, she says she has not experienced any repercussions.

"The people I have met have been compassionate and wonderful and kind," she says.
