"America's Got Talent": Prince Poppycock Gets Buzzed, While Michael Grimm Shines
NEW YORK (CBS) Prince Poppycock got buzzed Tuesday night on a cut-throat finals episode of "America's Got Talent."
The fan favorite, along with the other big crowd pleaser Jackie Evancho, looked set to battle it out for the season 5 title, until Poppycock got buzzed by judge Piers Morgan, who said his act wasn't fun enough.
That unlikely buzz during Poppycock's operatic performance of "Nessun Dorma" looks set to affect the singer's chances of taking home the title Wednesday night, unless his fan base comes out with lots of votes on their cell phones and computers to prove Morgan wrong.
Mississippi singer Michael Grimm unexpectedly came out on top with a strong showing with his rendition of "When a Man Loves a Woman."
The always adorable Jackie Evancho sang "Ave Maria" in a mellow, but not too exciting performance.
And rounding out the bunch, Fighting Gravity pulled off some stunning upside-down moves.
The season finale will air tonight, Sept. 15, when the winner of Season 5 will be crowned at the end of a live, two-hour show.
Celebrity guests will include Usher, Jewel, the Goo Goo Dolls, David Copperfield, Donna Summer, Lionel Richie, Cirque du Soleil and Sarah Brightman.
Jewel is slated to perform a duet with Michael Grimm, Sarah Brightman will sing with Jackie Evancho, Donna Summer will team up with Prince Poppycock and Lionel Richie will perform with Fighting Gravity.
