Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Bollywood star, is pregnant

(CBS/AP) - There's a baby on the way for Indian film star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The 37-year-old Loreal spokeswoman and former Miss World is expecting her first child with husband, actor Abhishek Bachchan.

The Bollywood star's 69-year-old father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan, first shared the news on his Twitter feed late Tuesday night, writing "I am going to become a grandfather...Aishwarya expecting...So happy and thrilled!"

The couple, who tied the knot in 2007, have yet to comment on the pregnancy news. 

There has been speculation in recent weeks after newspapers published photos showing a more full-figured Rai Bachchan, who starred in "Bride and Prejudice" and dozens of Bollywood films. Other film credits include 2007s "The Last Legion" and 2009s "The Pink Panther 2." 

Rai Bachchan, who is often cited as "the world's most beautiful woman," will next star in Madhur Bhandarkar's "Heroine," which was announced at the Cannes Film Festival last month.
