The country star's publicist, Kirt Webster, released a statement explaining that Jones is resting at his Franklin, Tenn., home.

"Although George is doing much better, doctors are ordering mandatory recovery time forcing all tour dates through May 20th, including the entire Canadian run, to be postponed," the statement explained.

The 80-year-old Country Music Hall of Famer posted a video on his website this week, thanking fans for their prayers.

"I'm on my way back, for sure," he said, adding, "I look forward to seeing you all soon."

In the video, Jones also addressed a family feud with Georgette Lennon, his daughter with late country singer Tammy Wynette.

"I would like to apologize for my daughter Georgette and her new husband for putting so much bad things about me on the internet and Facebook," he said. "None of these things are true. They are all about money. I have gave and gave until I can no longer give. I will never let her go hungry, but I am tired of putting out, and I am not the person they claim I am."

Jones' daughter responded on a group fan page, explaining, "I have NEVER and never will talk trash anywhere about my Dad and can easily prove that." She noted that she's "completely devastated ... I love my Dad very much and would never hurt him."
