Aide: Edwards Mistress Miffed by Wife Talk

John Edwards' former aide is making more explosive allegations about the politician and his former mistress Rielle Hunter.

Andrew Young released a voice mail Thursday purporting to be Hunter complaining about Edwards discussing his love for his wife to the media, Fox News reported Thursday.

"Every time Rielle would see the senator discuss his love for Elizabeth on TV and about her cancer, Rielle would get extremely upset and threaten to go public," Young told Fox News.

A separate tape allegedly captures Edwards giving Young secret signs about his wife listening in on phone calls, Fox reports.

According to the network, Young said Elizabeth Edwards is trying to obtain the tapes through the courts. He said the tapes are critical, because "It corroborates my story, which I don't know that anybody would have believed me against any of the Edwardses absent that information."

Young says Elizabeth Edwards has threatened to sue him for contributing to the downfall of their marriage.

He said Wednesday that she has threatened an "alienation of affection" lawsuit. Young said he had anticipated that the Edwards family would come after him following his book about the candidate's affair.

An alienation of affection lawsuit allows a person to sue a third party for contributing to the breakup of a marriage. Jilted spouses typically seek money from their partner's lover.

A video cassette purportedly showing Edwards and Hunter in a sexual encounter is now in the hands of a North Carolina judge.

Superior Court Judge Abraham Penn Jones took possession of the tape Wednesday, a week after ordering that Young hand over the recording.
